Greechan came back from 4-17 down to win |
Jersey bowler Lynsey Greechan is the new British Isles Champion. Competing in Belfast in the singles event at the Women's British Isles Championships, she faced England's Edna Bessell in the final. In an extremely entertaining and hard fought match, Greechan came from behind to win 21-20. "I just had to keep at it, she really took it out of me," she told BBC Radio Jersey. "I'm excited, I'm smiling, I'm crying. It's absolutely amazing." Greechan was the only islander to make it out of the preliminary rounds and overcame Wales' Kathy Pearce 21-17 in the semi-finals.
