Nigel Nicholls won the Two Wood Singles final 14-9

Nigel Nicholls has won the Cornish Short Mat Bowls Two Wood Singles title.

Nicholls, from the Newlyn Trinity club, beat Dobwalls' Brenda Sleep 14-9 in the final at Bodmin's Dragon Centre on Sunday afternoon.

Sleep and Nicholls also made it to the semi-finals of the Four Wood pairs event but failed to make the final.

Troon's Joe Coups and David Studden beat Camilla Cawrse and Phil Hicks from Luxulyan 12-9 in the final to take the title back to West Cornwall.

In the county inter-area league West Cornwall took their fourth title in six years after thrashing Central Cornwall 30 points to 6.
