Cornwall's short mat bowls team have slipped to the bottom of their Inter-County Championship group after losing at rivals Devon at the weekend. Despite sharing the points after three of the four sessions, Devon won three of the last four games in the final session to secure the win. Devon took 24 league points from the match while Cornwall had 16 as the home side ran out 180-141 winners. Devon are now 17 points clear at the top of the group with two games to go. Cornwall are last, a point behind Dorset and five behind second-placed Somerset. Cornwall's next match is at home to Dorset on Sunday, 30 November in a game they must win if they are to keep their slim hopes of progressing in the competition alive.
