Worthing Thunder coach Dave Titmuss says they must beat Essex Pirates if they seriously intend to reach the BBL Championship play-offs this season. Thunder are ninth in the table and four points adrift of the top four having played up to four more games than their nearest rivals. Titmuss told BBC Sussex: "In terms of our goals this year, this is one of those must win games. "It's certainly going to be a tough one, I think." Titmuss knows the Pirates, currently third from bottom of the table, have ambition. "They've got some experienced people together with the young British players. "They're certainly not a cellar team. I think they've got realistic hopes of making the play-offs. " Thunder's game away at Pirates tips off at the Southend Tennis & Leisure Centre at 1930 GMT on Friday.
