Norwich continued their impressive recent form with a comfortable defeat of Brighton to move them up to fourth.
It took the hosts just three minutes to get going, Grant Holt's chip deceiving the keeper and going in, before Wes Hoolahan slid home a second.
Glenn Murray set up James Tunnicliffe to reduce the deficit from close range.
But Simon Lappin's free-kick flew in off Brighton defender Tommy Elphick to restore the two-goal lead and Chris Martin drove in from range to seal it.
Norwich manager Paul Lambert told BBC Radio Norfolk:
"Winning any game is very important for us, and that was a tough game for us, Gus has got them going pretty well, I'm delighted with the win.
"They had one or two chances, we got the goals at the right time, and some of the football we played was terrific."
Brighton manager Gus Poyet told BBC Sussex:
"It comes down to key moments. That is the good thing about this. There are no excuses and there are no complaints. That's the reality and we - I mean all - have to accept that.
"I think the difference between the two teams was that even if we were for a few moments on the game in terms of passing, we didn't finish it, we didn't shoot enough. Maybe we didn't believe in that extra bit to win the game.
"You need another gear, that extra bit, that difference to finish the comeback."
