Histon fought back to claim a point as Eastbourne squandered the chance to clinch a first league win in nine.
The Sports took the lead soon before the break as Liam Enver-Marum latched onto Joe Benjamin's pass and fired past Stutes keeper Danny Naisbitt.
Naisbitt saved Histon from going 2-0 down when he saved Paul Armstrong's penalty after Benjamin was fouled.
And Bradley Hudson-Odoi tucked home Lanre Oyebanjo's ball to level, before Borough's James Fraser saw red late on.
Eastbourne Borough assistant manager Nick Greenwood told BBC Sussex:
"I think the confidence has been growing in the past two or three games, and we're becoming difficult to beat.
"For an hour I thought we played some controlled football and deserved to win. We've got a difficult December with a lot of away games, it's not easy in this division but if we can accumulate a point a game we'll be staying in the Blue Square Premier."
