Aldershot defender John Halls says new boss Kevin Dillon has a wealth of experience to pass down to his promotion-chasing League Two squad.
Halls played under Dillon at Reading during their years in the Premiership.
He told BBC Surrey: "I know Dill well. He's a great coach, he did really well at Reading and got a lot of experience from his time in the top flight.
"Hopefully that can rub off on the players and we can try and emulate things that he's done in the past."
Halls says Dillon will carry on what has been an upward trend of learning since former manager Gary Waddock's arrival: "Gary [Waddock] gave us all our bases, Doddsy and William's influence has rubbed off on us and now Dill's come in and is rubbing a few more of his ideas off on us.
"It's all a combination and now we can crack on with the Gaffer's ideas and hopefully it will take us up that table."
