Crawley bounced back from two straight defeats to beat 10-man Salisbury.
The Whites' hopes were dealt a severe blow when Jamie Turley was dismissed in the first-half of stoppage time for a crude tackle on Adam Quinn.
And the Reds took advantage soon after the break, with Ben Smith striking from six yards out.
Matt Tubbs missed a chance to level for Salisbury and Lewis Killeen made sure of the points, lashing into the top corner from Charles Ademano's ball.
Crawley assistant manager Paul Raynor told BBC Sussex:
"Lady Luck has not really been smiling kindly on us, but we certainly put in a performance that deserved three points, under extreme conditions really.
"We weren't intimidated by some of the challenges from Salisbury that were absolutely appalling.
"We're very fortunate that Adam Quinn isn't nursing a serious injury at the moment.
"They're good people at Salisbury, they've had their problems, they're having a good season, but we're very disappointed by some of the challenges that were flying about."
