McLaughlin-Williams was top scorer for the Flyers with 27 points |
Bristol Flyers basketball team began their league campaign with a 86-73 away victory at Coventry Crusaders. The Flyers led 38-32 at half-time and some sharp shooting in the second half from captain Greg Streete and Doug McLaughlin-Williams secured the win. "Coventry are well coached and caused us a lot of problems when we met them at home," said coach Andreas Kapoulas. "We did a much better job of defending their sets and really disrupted their offensive timing and rhythm." He added: "We still have a lot of areas to improve on but the longer we are together, the better we get." The Flyers' next game is at home against last season's league winners Reading Rockets on Saturday.
