Bristol Flyers basketball team enjoyed a double-winning start to their home season with victories over Coventry Crusaders and Plymouth at the weekend. The Flyers are through to the quarter- finals of the National Trophy are narrowly beating the Crusaders 72-69. Bristol will now take on Taunton Tigers in the National Cup after defeating Plymouth 90-61. "It is really positive that we started our home games this season with two wins," coach Andreas Kapoulas said. "A good confidence boost but at the same time, we need to perform better as a team if we are to achieve the goals that we set out at the start of the year. The Flyers trailed the Crusaders for the majority of the match before coming back in the final quarter to sneak a win. "The Coventry game was a great season opener and showed to everyone watching that we are determined to win games even when we are not playing well," added Kapoulas. "We are very much a new team and we are still learning how to play with each other. "I definitely think the longer we are going to be together, the better we are going to become."
