TT organisers are urging riders to submit their entry forms as early as possible due to the large influx of newcomers already confirmed for 2009. Entrants are urged to submit their forms before the 27 February deadline. Riders wishing to take part in either the Billown TT or the TTXGP have until 31 March to send in their forms. A large number of newcomers have already committed to race in 2009, including Jenny Tinmouth and Irish Superbike champion Brian McCormack. The 2009 event will also see an increased number of last year's leading Manx Grand Prix competitors. | To compete around this world famous course is the ultimate for any rider |
In a successful programme, a number of new, young riders visited the Island in September 2008 for the Manx Grand Prix, with several expected to sign up for the race. Former TT star Richard Quayle told BBC Isle Of Man: "To compete around this world famous course is the ultimate for any rider. "There is some incredible talent showing a real interest in the event." Fans can also expect a host of top name riders to line up on Glencrutchery Road in 2009. The 2008 races saw some of the closest racing in the event's 101-year history, with nine different riders achieving podium positions.
