Rider Wylie signs up for TT 2009

Ben Wylie
Wylie has been racing in the British Supersport series for three seasons

British Supersport Championship rider Ben Wylie is set to make his Isle of Man TT debut at the 2009 event.

The 25-year-old, from Shropshire, will make his TT debut on R1 and R6 Yamahas.

"To race in the TT has always been an ambition of mine, I'm extremely excited about coming to the Isle of Man and making my debut," said Wylie.

"I'm training hard and learning the course in earnest so when Saturday 30 May comes around I will be 100% prepared for the challenge."

Wylie began his bike racing career in 2000 when he finished 10th in the Aprilia Superteen series, riding alongside the likes of Casey Stoner, Chaz Davies and Cal Crutchlow.

He competed in the World Endurance Championship for the Phase One team in 2005.

For the past three seasons Wylie has raced in the British Supersport series for the Wylie and Holland team.

The motorcycle dealership who sponsor the team is owned by his mother and former world sidecar champion and TT regular Cliff Holland.
