Tinmouth made her British Supersport Championship debut this year

Jenny Tinmouth has announced she will take part in the 2009 Junior TT race.

The 30-year-old Cheshire racer finished seventh overall in her debut season at the British Supersport Championships earlier this year.

She told BBC Isle of Man: "I am really looking forward to riding the Isle of Man mountain circuit in 2009.

"I have been round the course with former racer Milky Quayle but now I need to get over to the Isle of Man and do some more laps on the bike."

Tinmouth follows in the footsteps of other female TT riders like Beryl Swain, Hilary Musson and Maria Costello.

"I want to enjoy the experience as much as possible without too much pressure," she said.

"I don't think I'll be on the podium this year. I just need to get the first year under my belt and see if it's for me."
