Gillings is ranked number six in the world at snowboardercross |
Isle of Man snowboarder Zoe Gillings finished in 10th place at the Canadian World Cup in Vancouver on Saturday. The British number one went into the event with just four hours of training as she is still carrying a painful foot injury picked up at the X-Games. "I achieved my goal today which was to get as much information as I could about the course," said Gillings. "10th was OK considering the circumstances but I want to be back on the podium as soon as possible." The competition was the test event for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics and it is widely believed that the course will be exactly the same. The 23-year-old snowboarder now heads to Stoneham, Canada, on Monday for the next round of the World Cup tour despite not being certain that she will compete.
