MAR set for Isle of Man TT debut

MAR will be competing for the Senior TT trophy in June

The MAR British Superbike Championship team have confirmed they will make their Isle of Man TT debut in 2009.

The team have also announced that Irish Superbike Champion Brian McCormack will ride one of their Kawasaki bikes.

The 25-year-old said: "I'm really excited about making my TT debut with such a respected and experienced team.

"It was a longstanding ambition of mine to race at the TT and I've no doubt that the team will be able to transform their BSB experience onto the roads."

MAR team manager Malcolm Ashley said: "We're very excited to secure the signature of the reigning Irish Superbike Champion and equally excited to be participating in the TT for the first time.

"We've been huge fans of the TT for some time now and with Brian expressing his desire to compete it made perfect sense for us to be able to assist him with that.

"We're well aware of the huge task in front of us but we're totally committed to the TT this year.

"I'm sure our BSB experience and knowledge will be of great value to us on the Island."
