Farquhar is expected to announce a Superbike ride in the TT races |
Irish road racer Ryan Farquhar has announced that he will ride under his own KMR Kawasaki banner for 2009. The Dungannon man enjoyed his best ever season last year and is looking forward to the challenges of the season ahead. "Running my own team is a massive challenge but taking on the big factories and trying to beat them on a limited budget is a big buzz," he said. The 33-year-old will contest the Isle of Man TT, North West 200 and the Ulster Grand Prix meetings. Farquhar also intends to compete at the Southern 100, Manx Grand Prix and selected meetings at Oliver's Mount and Scarborough as well as defending his Irish Road Race titles. Last season Farquhar won the Irish 600cc and superbike road race titles, topped the Duke Road Race Rankings for the third time and finished in the top six of every one of his TT races on Kenny Harker's Kawasakis. Kenny Harker, amongst several others, will continue to support Farquhar in 2009.
