Richard Quayle talks to Stuart Easton, Tommy Bridewell and Jenny Tinmouth. |
An exciting list of TT debutants is being lined up for the 2009 event. At the top of the list is former British champion Stuart Easton, who recently beat all the top TT contenders to win the Macau Grand Prix. TT officer and former winner, Richard Quayle told BBC Isle of Man: "To compete around this world-famous course is the ultimate for any rider. "There is some incredible talent showing a real interest in taking part in this year's event." Other British Superbike contestants who are considering taking on the mountain course include Tom Grant, Dave Johnson and Steve Mercer. Following a superb fourth in Macau Portuguese rider Luis Carreira has also signalled his intention to compete. | To attract this amount of genuinely talented riders speaks volumes about the TT and I think 2009 could be a belter. |
Other European entries are expected from German Rico Penzkofer and Italian Mirko Giansanti. Quayle added: "To attract this amount of genuinely talented riders speaks volumes about the TT and I think 2009 could be a belter." TT organisers are also in talks with several BSB teams who have yet to make their debut at the TT, as well as some of the emerging European manufacturers. The list of new sidecar crews is headed by brothers Ben and Tom Birchall who finished third in this season's World Championship.
