Jersey racing driver James Walker has been testing with two new teams as he aims to put a deal in place to drive in the 2009 World Series by Renault.

Walker, who drove for the Fortec team this season, has been testing at France's Paul Richard circuit with P1 Motorsport and Ultimate Signature.

P1 were the team of 2008 championship winner Giedo van der Garde.

"When I went out I was number one straightaway, which was great," said Walker after the testing session.

"Throughout the morning the track got quicker and quicker and I was pleased that every time I was on circuit I set the fastest time."

And Walker was impressed with the Ultimate Signature team, who won the last race of the season through driver Esteban Guerrieri.

"Ultimate are a very good team. They are a relatively new team but the people involved have massive amounts of experience so the level of professionalism was great to experience," added Walker.

Walker hopes to announce who he will drive for in the near future.
