James Walker blows tyre while leading at Le Mans

James Walker's roller-coaster season in the Renault World Series continued at Le Mans this weekend.

After blowing a tyre while leading race one on Saturday, he finished ninth and in the points in Sunday's second race.

Walker told BBC Radio Jersey: "To come off the highs of leading with no result to show for it was obviously very difficult for myself and the team."

"But we bounced back in the second race - our race pace was good again, so there were positives to take from it."

The 25-year-old now moves on to Estoril in Portugul and then Barcelona for the final race of the season.

Walker added: "I'm bitterly disappointed to come away from Le Mans with just two points, but the car is absolutely mega now and I was quick at Estoril last year so I'm feeling positive about Portugal."
