Andy Eggo was finally crowned as Guernsey's senior Island Golf champion on his seventh appearance in the final.

After a neck-and-neck first round, he beat Danny Blondel by one hole over the 36-hole final.

A birdie three on the 17th hole (35th) gave him the vital lead which he held on to until the last.

Eggo put the win down to a new relaxed attitude to the game: "You think what do I have to do to win? This time I said 'just don't worry about it'."
