The Channel Islands defeated Hampshire at Guernsey's L'Ancresse course to keep their three-year unbeaten record in the Inter County Championship intact.

Going into Sunday's singles even with two points each the Channel Islands achieved a hard fought six-and-a-half to five-and-a-half points victory.

Channel Island captain Steven Bowen was particularly pleased.

"It was another fantastic performance, it really close at the end but we just managed to finish in front," he said.

"Considering the strength of Hampshire, who are one of the top county sides, it really shows how strong Channel Island golf is."
