Diaz out to continue good form
Laura Diaz is hoping for back-to-back tournament wins
Laura Diaz celebrates her victory last weekend
American Laura Diaz is aiming to become the year's first back-to-back winner when she tees off in the Kellogg-Keebler Classic in Illinois on Friday.

Diaz triumphed at the Corning Classic in New York on Sunday, edging out Rosie Jones by two strokes.

She then spent the night driving 11 hours to Chicago with her husband and caddy so she could tee on on Monday morning in a junior pro-am.

Diaz has a special reason for wanting to do well in the tournament at the Stonebridge Country Club as she is sponsored by Kellogg-Keebler.

Perform

"I'm a little tired just from a long Sunday and a little more work on Monday than normal" said Diaz.

"But my sponsors have done their best to not make me have to go out of my way to do anything extra" she added.

"They know it's a tournament week. It's their tournament. They want me to perform as well as I want to perform."

With eight of the top ten money winners and 14 of the top 20 competing, it promises to be a strong field.

Karrie Webb, chasing her first title of 2002 has happy memories of her last appearance in Illinois after her victory in the 2000 US Open.

In five starts in 2002, Webb's best finish has been a tie for fifth, a stark contrast to her first six years on the tour where she won five majors and 21 other tournaments.

"It feels good to be back here," Webb said.

"I've had a couple of weeks off, but I have had a couple of good practice days and I feel good about my game. Hopefully, I'll take that into the week," she said.
