Denmark's Anders Hansen maintained his grip on the Volvo PGA Championship at Wentworth to win by five shots with a final round of 70.

Pouring rain hampered the players' progress, forcing green staff to use heavy rollers to clear the greens and causing play to be slower than usual.

Hansen teed off in the final group with Spain's Carlos Rodiles and showed no nerves as he picked up three birdies in the opening 10 holes.

Long birdie putts on the 10th and 14th repelled a brief charge from Eduardo Romero, who eagled the 12th to move within four.

The likes of Rodiles, Colin Montgomerie and Nick Faldo failed to threaten, and Australian Jarrod Moseley was the early star with a magnificent 63 to equal the course record.
