Carlisle United have bolstered their squad with the loan signings of strikers Daryl Duffy from Bristol Rovers and Ben Marshall from Stoke.

Duffy, 25, joins on a three-month loan deal, while Marshall, 18, has signed a month-long loan deal.

Marshall joined Stoke from Crewe in the summer. Glasgow-born Duffy began his career at Rangers before moves to Falkirk, Hull City and Swansea.

Both players are in the squad for Tuesday's trip to Colchester.

Duffy made just one appearance for the Gers before joining Falkirk, where his performances earned him the move to Hull.

Following loan spells with Hartlepool and Swansea, he joined the latter for a fee of £200,000.

After a year with the Swans, Duffy secured a £100,000 move to Bristol Rovers where he had been a regular in the first team before his switch to Carlisle.

Marshall, who can play centrally or on the wing, has also had spells on loan with Northampton Town and Cheltenham Town this season.
