Winger Ben Marshall has been recalled by Stoke City after three months on loan with Northampton Town.
The 18-year-old joined the Cobblers at the start of the season and scored twice in 17 appearances for the League Two outfit.
"Stoke want Ben to go back to them and so he'll return," said Northampton manager Ian Sampson.
"When he came to us he'd only just joined Stoke so I think his time here will have done him good."
Sampson added: "Now they want to have a closer look at Ben so he'll return to his parent club.
"We're really grateful to [Stoke manager] Tony Pullis for allowing us to borrow Ben," Sampson said.
