Elding spent three months on loan with Lincoln City last season
Crewe striker Anthony Elding has joined Blue Square Premier side Kettering Town on loan until 3 January.
The 27-year-old, who previously played for the Poppies in 2006, scored on his second debut for the club in Tuesday's 2-2 draw with Wrexham.
The former Boston and Stockport striker joined the Alex from Leeds in July 2008 for an undisclosed six-figure fee.
However, he failed to establish himself at the Alexandra Stadium and finished last season on loan at Lincoln.
Elding scored three times in his first five games for Crewe, but has not found the net for the Alex since 26 August, 2008.
On his return from Lincoln, he was named as Crewe vice-captain by then-manager Gudjon Thordarson, but has since been told he can leave the club by caretaker manager Dario Gradi.
Several clubs reportedly showed an interest in taking Elding on loan, including Port Vale and Burton Albion, but he has decided instead to re-join Kettering, where he spent four months at the start of 2006.
Meanwhile, the Poppies have also signed Simon Heslop on a month's loan from Barnsley. The midfielder has spent time at Tamworth, Grimsby and Kidderminster.
