Aldershot play-off dream alive, says Anthony Charles

Aldershot Town captain Anthony Charles says they can make the League Two play-offs - but only if they beat Accrington Stanley on Saturday.

The Shots have won their last four games and are currently six points behind seventh-placed Gillingham.

Charles told BBC Surrey: "We've been lucky with the timing of three home games in a row. I think we can make it.

"If we can get maximum points from Accrington, after that we may have a little eye on the play-offs."

The 30-year-old continued: "Some of the players have the experience of last season [when Aldershot were beaten by Rotherham in the play-off semi-final].

"We have to concentrate and know our jobs individually and as a team."

The Shots have ground out results recently, with three of their last four wins being 1-0 victories.

"We've given the fans something to cheer about and we've got the wins," Charles added.

"Ideally, they'd like us to be beating teams 2-0 or 3-0. If we can keep getting points, week by week we'll push on."
