Aldershot players share blame for Dillon exit - Charles

Aldershot Town captain Anthony Charles says the players must take some of the responsibility for Kevin Dillon's departure as manager.

Dillon parted company with the Shots on Monday, with the club six points above the League Two relegation zone.

Charles told BBC Surrey: "We are the players on the pitch who haven't executed the ideas of the manager over the last few weeks.

"We've put him under pressure but you can't sack 20 players."

The 29-year-old added: "It's the manager who at the end of the day will shoulder a lot of the responsibility and he's the one unfortunately who's gone.

"It's down to us I think, the majority of it."

However, the former Barnet defender is remaining positive about the club's current position.

"Everyone is frustrated at the minute and hopefully what happens now will be for the better," he said.

"For me there's no panic. We've got enough experience to be OK in this situation."
