Rushden moved into third place in the Division Three table with a hard-earned 2-0 victory over luckless Leyton Orient.

The visitors edged the early exchanges with on-loan Charlton striker Jamal Campbell-Ryce a constant menace to the Rushden defence.

The Orient winger ran out of luck when he struck the post early in the second half after a mazy run.

Rushden took the lead when Duane Darby took Stuart Gray's free-kick in his stride and shot home from eight yards.

The home side took confidence from their goal and made the game safe in the closing stages when Paul Hall crossed for Darby to nudge home his second from close range.
