| Saturday, 5 October, 2002, 17:42 GMT 18:42 UK Lincoln 1-2 Bournemouth Lincoln's winning home streak came to an end after a defensive mix-up gifted Bournemouth victory at Sincil Bank. Bournemouth took an early lead when Lincoln failed to clear a corner and defender Stephen Purches blasted the ball home. But City drew level when Stuart Bimson's free-kick was lashed home by striker Dean Cropper. Lincoln won a second-half penalty when Cropper was brought down by Bournemouth keeper Neil Moss, who then made a diving save to keep out Paul Smith's spot kick after being shown a yellow card. A poor back pass from Mark Bailey set up the winner for Bournemouth, with striker Alan Connell left with the easiest of chances for his seventh goal of the season. Lincoln City: Marriott, Futcher, Weaver, Morgan, Bailey, Smith, Camm, Gain, Bimson, Cropper, Yeo. Subs: Pettinger, Mayo, Buckley, Sedgemore, Mike. Bournemouth: Moss, Young, Broadhurst, Carl Fletcher, Purches, Browning, Elliott, Stock, Thomas, Hayter, Connell. Subs: Tardif, Eribenne, Steve Fletcher, Narada, Foyewa. Referee: C Boyeson (E Yorkshire). |
