| Thursday, 13 February, 2003, 00:53 GMT Wycombe 0-0 Huddersfield Huddersfield's recent revival continued as they moved off the bottom of the Second Division after a dour draw at Wycombe. The Terriers had won their last two matches and kept their third successive clean sheet to frustrate Lawrie Sanchez's men. It took until four minutes before the break for the first attempt on goal when Wycombe striker Stuart Roberts, appearing to have little room on the edge of the area, forced Huddersfield goalkeeper Scott Bevan into a sharp save. Huddersfield striker Andy Booth should earlier have forced home keeper Frank Talia into a save from the impressive Martin Smith's pinpoint cross. The visitors continually looked the more capable of finding the net, but substitute Thomas Heary's close-range effort was blocked in the 66th minute. Wycombe did find the net after 75 minutes in a rare moment of excitement when, from a Roberts cross, striker Craig Faulconbridge buried a glorious header past Bevan only to be ruled offside. Wycombe: Talia, Thomson, Rogers, Johnson, Senda, Bulman, Simpson, Brown, Ryan, Faulconbridge, Roberts. Subs: Lee, Cook, McCarthy, Simpemba, Currie. Huddersfield: Bevan, Moses, Youds, Brown, Sharp, Mattis, Irons, Holland, Smith, Booth, Stead. Subs: Baldry, Thorrington, Heary, Worthington, Senior. Referee: M Thorpe (Suffolk) |
