Manager Nigel Danby hopes for Harrogate Railway revival
Nigel Danby is in his first full season in charge at Station View
Harrogate Railway manager Nigel Danby hopes that Tuesday's 2-2 draw at Ossett Albion heralds a revival for the Evo-Stick Division One North club.
Goals from Ryan Harrison and Paul Stansfield earned Railway their first point in seven games.
Danby told BBC Radio York: "Hopefully that draw has stopped the rot and we can kick on from here.
"We're not doing the business in either 18-yard box. Between them we're playing some great stuff and looking good."
Railway are currently 20th in the league, two points better off than bottom-of-the-table Leigh Genesis.
Danby added: "There's confidence there and self-belief. We've got a lot of established players who've played this standard of football before and I'm sure it will come right.
"You can't look too far ahead, but we've a lot of fixtures coming up against teams that are down there with us.
"We've got Salford, Durham and Leigh Genesis all coming up. It's very tight in the league. A win (at Ossett Albion) could have taken us up to 12th from 20th."
Railway only reached step four of non-league football a few years ago, and Danby is keen to keep up their new-found status.
"It's a good club run by good people," said Danby. "I was here in the FA Cup run eight years ago (the second round tie against Bristol City) and there are still a lot of the same fans and committee who come and watch.
"It's important to do well for them but it's also important for the lads to do well for themselves."
