Daish's Fleet side were relegated after eight years in the Conference
Ebbsfleet manager Liam Daish has signed goalkeeper Preston Edwards for their first season in Blue Square Bet South.
The 20-year-old, who has played for Millwall, Dover and Grays, has agreed a one-year deal for the Fleet who were relegated last season.
He replaces popular and highly rated Lance Cronin, who has joined neighbours Gillingham on a one-year deal.
Manager Liam Daish told BBC Radio Kent: "Preston will be a good acquisition. He wants to replicate what Lance did."
He added: "He kicks really well, he's a good talker and has got the right attitide."
The Fleet lost 2-1 to Ryman South champions Croydon Athletic on Tuesday night. Craig Stone, who broke his leg in his last competitive game for Ebbsfleet two seasons ago, scored the goal.
In the night's other friendly action involving Kent clubs, Mark McCammon played his first football of pre-season for Gillingham. He played the final 20 minutes of the 2-0 defeat to Ryman Premier side Concord Rangers.
Dartford attracted a crowd of 2,602 for their 2-0 defeat by Millwall. Neil Harris and Gary Alexander were on target for the visitors who had John Marquis sent off.
Bromley held Crystal Palace to a 0-0 draw and Margate beat Sittingbourne 2-0, Chatham Town lost 2-1 to Stansted, Maidstone United went down 3-1 at Hythe Town and Whitstable beat Deal 4-0.
