Scarborough Athletic scored five second -half goals to beat Arnold Town 5-1 in their final NCEL Premier Division game of the season at Queensgate.
Trailing 1-0 at the break, Ryan Blott (2), Craig Palmer, Scott Phillips and James Webb ensured the victory.
Seadogs manager Brian France told BBC Radio York he was not satisfied with finishing fifth in the table.
"I definitely wanted to finish higher. I don't know this league, but next season I know what to expect," he said.
Athletic piled up 18 goals in their last two games, with the 13-0 demolition of Brodsworth setting a new club record.
"You don't want the season to finish when you're doing that, it will give us something to go for next season," France added.
The highlight of the Arnold game was Blott's tremendous 59th-minute half-volley on the turn from 28 yards, which levelled the scores.
"We've the best home record in the league. It's there but we've been a bit disappointing because we've been inconsistent," France added.
France believes the side can win promotion next season "with a few additions."
"We need strengthening in certain areas and we'll be looking to do that. We need a bigger squad," he said.
