Scarborough Athletic missed out on a league and cup double after Nostell Miners Welfare beat them in the two-legged President's Cup final.
With the score 1-1 from the first leg, both sides scored in the opening 10 minutes, before Nostell's Francis Johnson scored a late winner.
Seadogs manager Brian France told BBC Radio York: "We had enough of the game to have won, so no excuses.
"Since we won the league we haven't been firing on all cylinders."
He added: "I was just a little bit disappointed, I don't think we performed that well. We had a couple of injuries tonight but no excuse.
"We never got back to the heights at which we played when we attained the points to win the league."
Another bumper crowd of 559 made the trip to Bridlington despite poor weather and a delay in the second half because of a floodlight failure.
