St Georges thrash Ayre United 6-0 to hold top spot
St Georges thrashed Ayre United 6-0 at Glencrutchery Road to remain top of the Canada Life Premier League on Saturday.
A brace from Ciaran McNulty and further strikes from Sam Caine, Jamie Carlinssen, Chris Bass Junior and Frank Jones sealed the victory.
Douglas High School Old Boys kept up the pressure on the leaders with a hard-fought 3-1 win at Ramsey.
Old Boys are level on points with the Railway Cup winners, having played two more games.
Meanwhile, Peel won 3-1 away at St Marys and Rushen claimed bragging rights with a 4-0 home victory over Castletown in the southern derby.
At the other end of the table, Douglas Royal remain bottom after losing 6-1 at home to Laxey and Michael failed to take advantage, going down 4-1 at Corinthians.
Despite the defeat Michael are still six points clear of Gymns and Royal in the relegation zone.
