Douglas High School Old Boys move three points clear

Premier League

Douglas High School Old Boys beat Castletown 5-1 on Saturday to move top of the Canada Life Premier League.

Old Boys took advantage of postponements to move three points clear of St Georges, having played two more matches.

Alex Crawley gave the Southerners a 1-0 lead, before Colin Purvis's visitors ran riot in the second half.

Goals from Max Burman, Craig Stewart (two), Robbie Ward and David Quirk sent the Blackberry Lane club top.

Meanwhile Shaun Kelly was on target to help Ayre United to a shock 1-0 home win over fourth placed St Marys.

Michael United beat Douglas Royal 3-1 thanks to goals from Kieran Quinn, Peter Lewis and Andy Williamson, Aaron Quinn scored for Royal.

The defeat was made worse for Douglas Royal, with midfielder Mike Walker suffering a broken leg.
