Rushen edged a 2-1 home victory over Railway Cup rivals Laxey in the Canada Life Premier League on Saturday.
The victory sees the southerners leapfrog Laxey into fifth place in the table, three points behind St Marys, who beat Douglas Royal 8-1.
St Georges did not play on Saturday and both Peel and Douglas High School Old Boys took the opportunity to move within a point of the leaders.
Peel won 8-3 at Corinthians whilst Old Boys beat Ayre 5-1 at Blackberry Lane.
Meanwhile, Michael claimed a much needed three points at Gymns and Castletown and Ramsey drew 2-2.
