St Georges beat St Marys to maintain four-point cushion
Gymns remain botton after their 2-1 defeat at Ramsey
St Georges came from behind to win 3-2 against St Marys and maintain their lead at the top of the Canada Life Premier League on Saturday.
The victory sees St Georges retain their four point advantage over Peel who thrashed Douglas Royal 8-0, whilst St Marys stay fourth.
Meanwhile Douglas High School Old Boys are hot on the heels of Peel after an impressive 2-1 win at Laxey.
The defeat leaves the Miners two points off a Railway Cup place in fifth.
Elsewhere, Gymns remain bottom after losing 2-1 at Ramsey, Ayre drew 3-3 with Corinthians and Rushen won 2-1 away at Michael.
When all sides in the league have played each other once the top four qualify for the Parkinson's Railway Cup.
Isle of Man Football Association vice chairman Tony Mepham said: "It is very tight at the top this year and both Laxey and Rushen are still in contention.
"The final has traditionally been played on Boxing Day, but this year it will be played on the 27 December. We hope it will draw a big crowd."
Intriguingly Laxey and Rushen meet in the Premier League on Saturday.
