St Marys thrashed reigning champions Rushen United 6-1 at Springfield Road on Saturday to get their Premier League campaign off to a dream start.

Steven Priestnal found the net on four occasions, with Marc Priestnal and Martin Reilly also on target for the rampant Saints.

Rushen's Furo Davies had equalised midway through the first-half.

Meanwhile, Peel top the league after a thumping 8-0 victory over Gymnasium at Douglas Road.

Elsewhere, Ayre defeated Castletown 3-2, Douglas Royal beat Corinthians by the same score line, St Georges won 1-0 at Douglas High School Old Boys and Laxey drew 1-1 with Ramsey.
