Vikings thrash Harlequins to close gap on title leaders

Hockey

Vikings A closed the gap on the league leaders in the Men's Premier Division with a convincing 8-0 victory over bottom-placed Harlequins A.

Paul Kelly led the way for the Douglas side, finding the net four times to help move his team to within three points of title leaders Bacchas A.

Meanwhile, Bacchas A maintained their unbeaten league record with a 2-1 win over rivals Valkyrs A.

Vikings B and Saracens A drew 1-1 while Bacchas B beat Castletown B 3-1.

There were goals a plenty in the Women's Premier Division with Ramsey A putting nine past Castletown B without reply to clinch their second win of the season.

Elsewhere Vikings A maintained their 100% record, thrashing rivals Bacchas A 7-1 with four goals from captain Kim Carney to move top of the league.

Valkyrs A beat Castletown A 1-0 in a closely fought match while Bacchas B made it two wins from two with a 3-1 victory over Valkyrs B.
