Champions Portuguese Club remain unbeaten in Jersey's Championship after beating St Clement 1-0 on Saturday.
Rui Mendes got the only goal as Portuguese came through their toughest examination in the league this season.
The defeat leaves St Clement four points off the second relegation spot in fourth place.
Second-placed First Tower beat St Brelade 5-0 but third-placed Magpies' hopes of going up took a big hit as they went down 3-1 to St John.
Aaron Gouveia score twice for Tower as they took the box seat for the second promotion spot while Luke Bichard, Jamie Smith and Mark Roche all scored for third-from-bottom St John.
It means Tpwer have 28 points, the same as Magpies, but with a game in hand. St Clement have 24 points but have a game in hand on Tower and two on 'Pies.
In the day's other game Beeches consolidated fifth place after a 2-1 win over bottom side St Martin/SCF.
