Football

Champions Portuguese Club remain unbeaten in Jersey's Championship after beating St Clement 1-0 on Saturday.

Rui Mendes got the only goal as Portuguese came through their toughest examination in the league this season.

The defeat leaves St Clement four points off the second relegation spot in fourth place.

Second-placed First Tower beat St Brelade 5-0 but third-placed Magpies' hopes of going up took a big hit as they went down 3-1 to St John.
