FA Cup dream dashed for Centrals

Las Vegas
Centrals' hopes of a trip to Vegas were emphatically ended for another year

Centrals' dreams of causing a Guernsey FA Cup upset were well and truly dashed as island champions Belgrave Wanderers hammered them 9-0 in the second round.

AJ Saunders hit a hat-trick while island stars Dave Rihoy and Sam Cochrane each scored two at the Track.

Part-time Centrals had been promised a trip to Las Vegas by their sponsor if they won the Cup.

"It could have been 15," Belgrave coach Micky Ogier told BBC Guernsey after the convincing win.

"It's all about teams wanting to play against the bigger clubs, but for us it's about not getting any injuries. We've come away with a good win and hopefully no injuries," he added.

Bels will face either Rovers or Northerners Saturday, 3 January at the Track in the quarter finals.
