The Guernsey Football Association has revealed the name of the team playing in the Kent Premier League will be called Guernsey Athletics.
The name had been a secret after the initial name, Guernsey United, was ruled out by the Guernsey FA.
The Guernsey Athletics moniker is not new, there was a team with the same name founded in the island in 1896.
That club was one of the original members of the Priaulx League before the 'tics' disbanded in 1963.
The modern-day Athletics will adopt the club's traditional colours of maroon and white and use the original badge.
They still aim to play in the Kent Premier League next season with an Under-21 team playing in Guernsey's Development League.
"We are really pleased that we can use one of the oldest names in GFA football," said club director James Blower.
"It is fantastic that one of the island's oldest clubs is now Guernsey's newest club.
"We hope this second coming of the Athletics lasts as long as the first and beyond," added Blower.
