Tony Vance has been appointed as Guernsey's new manager after five years as the assistant coach.
Steve Ogier quit the post last month to take over as manager of Guernsey United and it was thought his assistant had gone with him.
However, Vance applied for the manager's job and is now set to step into Ogier's boots until July 2009.
The GFA Chairman, Mark Le Tissier, told the BBC Guernsey that Vance "was considered to be the ideal candidate".
