A Guernsey side will definitely face a Kent team this season after the island's football league was drawn with the Kent County League in the NLS Cup.

The preliminary round tie of the National League Systems Cup must be played in Guernsey by 11 April.

The Kent County League is a feeder to the Kent Premier League which a new island side is hoping to join in 2009.

The formation of Guernsey Athletics to play in the UK has caused much controversy in the island game.

The tournament is for teams from step seven of the English football league pyramid and is open solely to players who have never played at any professional level.

Guernsey reached the quarter finals in January this year where they lost on penalties to the Amateur Football Combination after drawing 2-2 after extra time.

The island reached the semi finals in 2006 but were beaten by the Cambridgeshire County League who went on to lose the final to the Isle of Man.

The winners of the competition get be be the England representatives at the Uefa Regions Cup.
