Watson has made great strides up the junior rankings in 2008

Guernsey's Heather Watson and her Croatian doubles partner Ajla Tomljanovic are through to the second round of the Casablanca Junior Cup.

The top seeds despatched Latvia's Alina Jerjomina and Julia Samuseva, from Russia, 6-2 6-4 in Mexico City.

They will face Jeanette Draeger, from Germany, and Watson's fellow Brit Nicola George in round two.

Draeger and George defeated the Mexican pair Rebeca Aguirre and Alejandra Lozano 6-1 6-2 in their first match.
