Sunday league head seeking help

Guernsey football
The social leagues have been run almost single-handedly by Hamon

The secretary of Guernsey's Sunday Football League says he wants players to come and help him look after it.

Rod Hamon has been running the league - along with the Saturday Football League - since the two broke away from the Guernsey FA at the start of the season.

But he says the workload is too much and - although he has had help from the Saturday league - nobody has come forward from the Sunday tournament.

"The workload for me between the two is far too much," Hamon told BBC Guernsey.

"I'll see it through unless I'm told medical-wise that the workload's too much and I've got to step down."

But he says if he is forced to take a back seat he is sure somebody will fill his role.

"When push comes to shove, if you step out someone will step in," said Hamon.

"If they can do it when it comes to the crunch they can do it before it comes to the crunch.

"I'm looking for someone to come in before their arm's twisted right up their back and they've got to do it or it stops altogether."
