York have won the YPL Trophy three times under skipper Marcus Wood |
Yorkshire Premier League champions York kept up the pressure on leaders Yorkshire Academy with a nine-wicket win against Hull at Clifton Park. Daniel Woods took 7-38 and Ashley Hulme 2-20 as Hull were bowled out for 139. York took just 12 overs to reach 143-1 and claim the full eight points, with Dan Wilson 62 and Duncan Snell 60. Scarborough won at Rotherham by four wickets in an exciting game which saw the visitors overhaul Rotherham's 223-7 with just five balls to spare. Darren Harland made 56 and Mark Tennant 64 to give Scarborough a platform before Piet Rinke's 39 not out and Simon Tennant's 26 not out steered them to victory in the final over. Skipper Harland said: "It was a good win, only six points (because Rotherham were not dismissed) but we'll take that." Scarborough have now won six games in a row, not counting a rained-off match at Castleford, and have also won their last two games despite the absence of Yorkshire's Adam Lyth. Harrogate lost at home to Yorkshire Academy by 107 runs. The Academy piled up 258, and although Harrogate skipper John Proud made 48, they were all out for 151.
