York's Dan Wilson has scored 1,212 runs this season |
York's lead at the top of the Yorkshire Premier League has been cut to 14 points after both of their weekend fixtures were lost to rain. Castleford twice beat the weather, taking 14 points from their two games, as against rained-off York's six. York all-rounder Nick Kay said: "It's been a bad weekend for us. "Rotherham are probably our nearest threat. If they win their game in hand, they will come within eight points of us." York would have expected to beat bottom club Harrogate on Saturday. And, on Sunday, they arrived at Headingley to play Yorkshire Academy but the match never got started. Rotherham took the full eight points off Sheffield United to leap into third place, 16 points behind York and two behind Castleford. Unlucky Scarborough slipped to fourth after the weather prevented any play in either Saturday's game at Cleethorpes or Sunday's at home to Harrogate.
